AU INFORMATION
Apr. 2nd, 2016 10:25 pmJack Atlas, in the 'Rise of the Guardians AU' is dead, as some may have guessed simply from the AU itself. He dies at the age of 14, rather ironically drowning despite his eventual state as a being made of fire-the fire of the Crimson Dragon, fueled by the Burning Soul, in fact. He is chosen at the time due to the rising threat of the Dark Signers. From the minute that Satellite breaks from the remaining city, the other Guardians of Childhood are unable to reach the place due to the immense darkness there-Jack's tie to the Crimson Dragon protects him from most of these negative effects however, something that he learns more and more as he comes to know not only the occasionally visiting Jack Frost (who suffers the effects in more minor amounts due to his recent 'graduation' as a Guardian), but the Dark Signers and Signers that he left behind.
The Signers, thankfully, can see him-and Carly as well during her time before becoming a Dark Signer, thanks to becoming his first 'believer'. Jack's fire allows him to face the Dark Signers on a different sort of ground before finally dueling alongside the friends who thought him forever gone, even while the darkness of the Earthbound Gods leaves him weak and exhausted.
The events of the above are compiled in fanfic form, located here. Beyond that however, after the battle, Jack is taken down through the newly re-established burrows by the other Guardians, when others aren't looking; he thus awakens in the Easter Bunny's domain...though at this time, the following events of the AU have not been completely established!
Jack has discovered many of his 'later abilities' while in the Dressing Room however, and on top of that has many innate ones that even he doesn't fully understand. These include:

Jack has discovered many of his 'later abilities' while in the Dressing Room however, and on top of that has many innate ones that even he doesn't fully understand. These include:
- Flame Manipulation - These fires cannot burn anything save the Undead and its associates, and are otherwise simply warm to the touch. Jack is technically made of this fire, and could lose physical form if he wanted as a result.
- Flight - By riding along heat currents, or even the heat of his own fire, Jack can fly.
- Visibility - While in the Dressing Room, anyone who so much as believes that 'something' is where Jack is, will be able to see Jack. As such, most tend to be able to see and hear him there. Otherwise, only the Signers, Dark Signers, and others associated with the Crimson Dragon, can see Jack-outside those who believe in the existence of the 'Jack o' Lantern'.
Notably, Jack not only remains 14 years old in appearance (albeit a relatively tall 14 year old, standing at 5'8''), but has reddened skin and hair, as well as solid red eyes. He no longer bears a Signer Mark (as the Wings passed to Rua when Jack died and became the dragon's 'flames'), and wears a pilfered coat from Santa's collection, courtesy of Jack Frost. He also carries a lantern that was given to him by the other Guardians during Christmas, as well as a jar of Sandy's sand.
